My Experiences After The Post

After I did the post, there were a lot of good comments and bad comments. I appreciate all the people who have encouraged me and given me support, there were also a lot of people who didn't believe in me and discouraged me, bu despite all of that, my family and friends helped and supported me a lot.
It was an enjoyable experience when my mama, ravichandra rao and my cousins, his children, Shirish and Durgasri came to help me and my mother with the digging. Let me tell you, it was a tough task digging all of that concrete and tar, a lot of people who were passing by, were looking at us. I was afraid, what if they might say something? My mother told me not to get distracted and focus on your goal.In total, i have adopted 3 trees. In my vacations, although i have to be reminded,i water my trees 2 times a day. One of my mother's office colleague, Dr. Maureen Lobo, has spoken to the Mayor of Vashi and he has agreed to build a fence around trees, so that they get protection and water. I thank Dr. Maureen Lobo for helping and supporting to spread the awareness. I also thank the Mayor of Vashi for the efforts he has put in.I am very glad to finally see my campaign working.Recently, I had been to Kolhapur for a short trip with my family, and in city streets,we saw many magnificent trees that were tall and beautiful, but i was very surprised that they were growing in scorching sun, then i realized the importance of trees in our life because they the are the ones who give us shade and coolness in summer heat of Kolhapur. Here are some pictures that i have taken that are posted below

What was encouraging was that few people shared videos as well, which emphasized on the usefulness of not only planting trees but protecting the trees as well

Listen to me

Author - Swati Murthy (12 years)

Imagine you are told to sit on a sofa, but you are not allowed to move even a little from that sofa. You will get food and all amenities that you require but can't move.Sounds impossible, right?

You need to have your freedom, your liberty. So, in the same way just imagine what a tree growing in a concrete are must be feeling. It's roots do not get air for respiration, water that it requires for growth and in some cases not even proper sunlight. all of us have been learning from grade one about trees and how they are our friends. We keep learning but do we ever put it in actions,no. We need to learn that actions actually do speak louder than words. To all the people who are reading this,I want you to go out in your locality whenever you get time and just find a tree growing in a concrete area. You cam even post the picture of the tree here. Then what you have to do is dig around the tree and water it everyday or whenever you get time. This is the first idea.

Secondly, you can adopt a tree and make it grow as your own and we will put up a poster saying that you are the tree's guardian and you have saved it. We will also put the photos of the tree before and after the change.

I am starting this blog because I think I need to spread the awareness of saving trees in our society, not just in words but also in actions
